BIOGRAPHY

 

Fisheye Productions and Shelley Mansell

 

 

Shelley Mansell Shelley Mansell fulfills the roles of both Director and Producer, owning and operating Fisheye Productions. Incorporated in 1993, Fisheye Productions was established as a service company for the film industry, based in Toronto, Ontario. From 1993 to present, Shelley works as a lighting technician and cast driver for various Hollywood and Canadian films and television through the International Association of Stage and Technical Employees (IATSE) 873.

 

Shelley first discovered the documentary scene at the HOT DOCS FESTIVAL in Toronto in 2000. It was there that she met her first mentor and documentary subject, Albert Maysles. She produced and co-directed a 25-minute documentary entitled MEET ALBERT MAYSLES that was awarded Honourable Mention for Best Documentary at the Brandon Film Festival. Other production credits include; Director on I SPY, for Ontario Media Development Centre and TVOntario Documentary Calling Card, Field Producer on THE BIG SHOW: THE 25TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE TORONTO FILM FESTIVAL, for CBC Arts & Entertainment and Producer/Director on BACK TO SCHOOL, supported by National Film Board Financial Assistance Program and distributed to various educational support centres. Most recently she co-produced, directed and shot MILLER’S MOUNTAIN, a half-hour autobiographical film between a father an son, which is currently in post-production.

 

With Shelley as Director, Fisheye Productions is currently working on two documentary projects: a feature length film entitled FOR THE LOVE OF CARS and a montage, 16 SHORT STORIES OF AN URBAN CITY CENTRE, which combines documentary within a three-dimensional art landscape.

 

Fisheye Productions has also produced films in the fictional film industry, beginning with EDAN’S WAKE, a short fiction film that was selected for the San Jose Cinequest Festival and the London Film Festival. Presently, Shelley is in the development stage of a feature length film, THE DISAPPEARANCE.

 

In her spare time, Shelley shoots still photography for movies, bands, actors and landscapes. Her photographs SENIOR CON CIGAR and ST. JOHN’S FENCE were recently sold at the SNAP! Photo Competition.

 

And she loves to travel….
